I get asked often “Why do you keep going to Hold Steady shows?” After thirty-two of them since October of 2006 – I can tell you it has a lot to do with the community of people surrounding the band. Throughout the years and in my travels, I’ve met so many great people from all walks of life – people I can legitimately call my friends. They’re not just people I talk to on a message board. It’s a really good feeling to know you have this crazy, wide-ranging support system that’s all over the place. I love it, and wouldn’t give it up for anything. It’s that important to me.
